Satsang is a highlight of the week at the Shiva Ashram, and literally means ‘to keep the company of Truth’. Swami Shankarananda gives illuminating talks on the philosophy of meditation and yoga, and draws on a variety of traditions and Great Beings. The rotation of topics include Baba Muktananda, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Anandamayi Ma, Yoga Vasishta, Zen Buddism and others.
Satsang also includes chanting, meditation, and darshan - a chance to meet Swamiji in person.

12th February 2012 - Ratha Yatra at the St.Kilda Festival
Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balarama and Subhadra Mayi (the Jagannatha deities from the Melbourne ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple) will ride on Their chariot again this coming Sunday.
The parade will take place at the St Kilda Festival on Sunday, February 12.
Parade time: 12:00 am – 1:30 pm Location: commences Cnr Beaconsfield Pde & Fitzroy St, St Kilda
Besides the Chariot Parade, there will be a wide variety of events throughout the day in the Vedic Village at Catani Gardens by the foreshore.

The VEDIC VILLAGE is where the whole family can indulge in all sorts of cultural and fun activities.
This involves Mantra Music featuring local and overseas artists, Drama and Dance, Vegetarian Master Classes, Face Painting Fun and of course world-renowned Hare Krishna Vegetarian Prasadam - Food for the Soul.
Jayadeva & the Mantra Choir

Jayadev was born as John Richardson in Dagenham, Essex and still lives in the same County in England.
He has become one of the world’s leading percussionists playing with musicians such as David Essex, Boy George, Carl Douglas and John Lodge.
He was a member of the Rubettes between 1974 and 1979 selling over 20 million discs across the world.
